J - Officiant, friend of the bride and groom
Waltham, Massachusetts

Photo from Jason's personal collection.
Jason is a close friend of both Celia and Jake. Celia first met Jason when a group of friends went out to dinner at Naked Fish in Natick, MA. Sometime later, Jason met Jake at Gypsy Bar in Boston, MA; the same night that Celia and Jake were introduced to each other!
When Celia and Jake started talking about options for an officiant, they both felt that just hiring a stranger would be impersonal. Instantly, they knew Jason was perfect for the job, so much so that they did not have a back-up plan in case he said “no”.
Jason and his wife, Sylvia, enjoy spending their time traveling around the world. In between their adventures, they can be found playing games at gaming central Casa de Hung/Perkowski.
     Get to know Jason:
Q. What are your favorite things of all time?
A. I would probably say any Christmas with my family when I was a kid. The excitement the night before on Christmas Eve was so much that I could hardly ever fall asleep. I would just lay in bed thinking about waking up in the morning. Also, living and working in Malaysia for 9 months and traveling around Asia with my great friend Ivan.
Q. What is something that you’ve always wanted to do, but haven’t been able to do yet?
A. My life has been pretty good and I’ve done most things tat I have wanted to. There will always be places that I want to travel too but haven’t gotten to yet.
Q. What is your favorite memory of Jake and Celia?
A. The all night game night during a snowstorm and then straight to the airport was fun. I remember there were a few times that I laughed so hard I was crying, but I can’t remember why.

E - Maid of Honor, friend of the bride
Beaverton, Oregon

During their Junior year of college, both Erin and Celia registered for a general education course called Asian Studies. They quickly judged and dismissed one another: Erin remembers Celia as the stuck up Americanized-Chinese girl that did not talk to anyone. Celia remembers Erin as the snobby FOB with the Beyonce hair and lots of friends.
Unbeknownst to them, they had a bunch of friends in common. One night a mutual friend invited both of them out to the bar. Since that fateful night, Erin and Celia have been the best of friends. The two have shared adventures not only in Oregon, but also in Hawaii and Cancun.

K - Bridesmaid, friend of the bride

Photo from Kala's personal collection.
Hillsboro, Oregon

It was on the first day of high school, in Mr. Bulgin’s first period Freshman English class that Kala and Celia met. They became fast friends and have been through thick and thin together over the years. Kala and Celia survived high school together, were roommates in college, have been there for lifes biggest moments, and continue to be cheerleaders for one another.
Shopping was a foreign concept that Kala introduced to Celia. Freshman year, Celia owned a single pair of shoes. By Senior year, she had approximately 10 pairs!
In addition, Kala helped jump start Celia’s cupcake obsession. Kala gave her the very first set of cake decorating tips, one of which is used on all the cupcakes.

J - Bridesman, friend of the bride
Raleigh, North Carolina

Best of friends since graduate school. Between studying semiconductor physics and sharing discussions over the most random things imaginable, the two were practically inseparable.
One of their favorite memories of each other is of Dogbert Golf. (Celia’s note - Dogbert golf is a game we developed in grad school. You tee up a stuffed Dogbert on a brass cylinder and proceed to launch Dogbert with a large cardboard tube. The purpose of the game was to see how far you could get Dogbert to go in our office.)
Born in Michigan, but raised Oregonian, Jack relocated to North Carolina to manufacture LEDs after grad school. Attention single ladies - Jack is available! Better snatch this one up quick.

M - Best Man, friend of the groom
Framingham, Massachusetts

Marco and Jake met their Freshman year at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). They met in their triple dorm room on move-in day. The third roomate did not show up until midnight that night. Both Marco and Jake were hoping that he would not show up so that they would have the entire place to themselves. Unfortunately, he eventually showed up and he sucked.
Marco and his wife, Jacquelyn, are expecting their first child in March.
     Get to know Marco:
Q: What is your favorite thing?
A: I love Patriot’s Day in Boston. It signified the start of Spring/Summer to me.

M - Groomsman, friend of the groom
Waltham, Massachusetts

Jake and Mike met over beers and trivia one day after a softball game. No, Jake was not playing softball, Mike and Jason were. Celia went to support them and dragged Jake along.
Thanks to Mike and his role as a homeowner, Jake has learned to spackle, sand, and paint.
Together, Mike and Jake share a couple of mutual hobbies such as golf, board games, video games, card games and Dunkin Donuts (coffee and munchkins). Their favorite of the bunch being Bridge.
Attention single ladies - Mike is a very eligible bachelor!

Rusty remembers meeting Jake Freshman year of college in Physics 1111. (Note from Rusty - I don’t remember much of the details probably because that class destroyed hisbrain and I blocked it out.)
Rusty and his wife, Gemma, are enjoying their first year together in wedded bliss.
     Get to know Rusty:
Q: What is your favortire memory of the two of you?
A: Doing our MQP (senior project) together. We got to hang out a lot.
Q: Tell me about something you’ve always wanted to do, but haven’t been able to do yet?
A: I’ve always wanted to take a year off and travel the world.

Natalie was first introduced to Jake in college at the Bean Counter while he was playing Chess.
One of Natalie’s favorite memories of her and Jake is set on a golf course, one of their shared past times. Natalie was was trying to jump into the golf cart, but misjudge the height and whacked her head up against the top. She fell backwards and landed flat on her a back. Jake laughed, not with her, but rather at her.
Natalie and her husband, Nelson, are also exploring the world as newlyweds.
     Get to know Natalie:
Q. What is your favorite thing of all time?
A. Cotton candy?
